My Wash Day Timeline: Exactly When I Use Growth & Strengthen Hair Oil, Nourish & Strengthen Shampoo, and Nourish & Strengthen Conditioner
If you've ever wondered "okay… but when do I actually use everything?" — this is the post.
This is the exact wash day timeline using all three products:
Simple, repeatable, and easy to come back to when you want your hair to feel clean, soft, and put together without overdoing it.
The Quick Overview (Save This)
- Pre-wash: oil → wait
- Shower: shampoo scalp-first → condition ends-first
- After: done
Now here's the real timeline.
T-Minus 60 Minutes: Pre-Wash Oil
0:00 — Apply Growth & Strengthen Hair Oil
Start on dry hair. Because the dropper pulls up a lot, use micro-presses — tiny squeezes into the palm first, never straight onto the hair.
How much to use:
- Fine hair: ½–1 micro-press
- Medium hair: 1–2 micro-presses
- Thick/textured: 2–3 micro-presses, work in sections
Where to apply:
- Ends first
- Then lightly through mid-lengths
- Optional: light scalp massage if your scalp feels dry — not every wash
3:00 — Clip it up and let it sit
Minimum: 10–15 minutes. Ideal: 30–60 minutes.
Use this time for something else. Emails, getting ready, cleaning up. Nothing fancy required.
Shower Timeline (10–15 Minutes)
0:00 — Soak hair thoroughly Let water fully saturate hair for 30–60 seconds before shampooing.
1:00 — First shampoo, scalp-first Apply Nourish & Strengthen Shampoo to the scalp — hairline, crown, behind ears, nape. Massage with fingertips for 60 seconds. Don't scrub the ends. Let the lather rinse through them.
3:00 — Rinse well Rinse thoroughly. This matters more than most people think.
4:00 — Second shampoo (only if needed) If you oiled your scalp, used dry shampoo, or the first lather barely foamed — do a second cleanse. Same method: scalp-first, gentle, 60 seconds.
6:00 — Conditioner, mid-length to ends Squeeze out excess water, then apply Nourish & Strengthen Conditioner from mid-length to ends, focusing on the ends.
7:00 — Detangle (2 minutes max)
- Press and slide to distribute conditioner
- Finger-detangle ends upward
- Optional: 2–4 light comb passes
- Let it sit another minute if you have the time
9:00 — Rinse Rinse well, especially near the nape and underneath so nothing feels coated.
After the Shower
What to do:
- Gently squeeze out water — no rough towel rubbing
- Air dry or use low heat if styling
- Keep hair loose until it's mostly dry
What to skip:
- Piling on a bunch of extra product
- Detangling aggressively when hair is half-dry
- Tight styles right away
This is where a lot of softness gets lost — through friction and rushing.
If You're Short on Time: The 20-Minute Version
- Oil ends only — ½–1 micro-press
- Wait 10 minutes
- Shampoo scalp-first, double cleanse if needed
- Condition mid-length to ends
- Quick detangle + rinse
Still works. Still gets the job done.
If You're Not Getting the Results You Want
Two quick fixes that solve most wash day issues:
Hair feels heavy: use less oil, keep conditioner off the roots, rinse longer.
Hair feels dry: stop scrubbing ends with shampoo, leave conditioner in 3–5 minutes.
This timeline is simple by design. When your routine is easy to repeat, your results get better — because consistency is what makes hair care actually work.
All three products are available together in the Glow Kit.
